Dr Azadeh Azadi
MD, FRANZCP
Dr Azadeh Azadi is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist and psychotherapist with more than 10 years of specialist experience. She works with children, adolescents, and their families, providing comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatment.
Dr Azadi completed her medical training in Iran before moving to Australia, where she initially practised as a GP for 18 months. She then started her psychiatry training at Concord and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals in Sydney, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2015. She has held consultant positions across major Sydney hospitals, including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Thomas Walker Hospital (Rivendell), The Sydney Children’s Hospitals, and the Brolga Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit.
Alongside her clinical work, she has contributed to medical education as a Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney and held leadership roles such as Deputy Medical Superintendent of Psychiatry at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Areas of clinical focus include:
• Psychosis in young people
• Mood disorders (including depression and bipolar disorder)
• Anxiety disorders
• Individual psychodynamic psychotherapy
Dr Azadi takes a warm, collaborative approach with young people and their families, aiming to support recovery, resilience, and long-term wellbeing.
